2020 Maori Point Pinot Gris Fum Cheapest Online

The Pinot Gris Fumé is a limited-release dry Pinot Gris that we ferment (with native yeasts) and then age in oak barrels. Essentially, we harvest some of our best Pinot Gris grapes and we treat them like nice Chardonnay grapes. The result is a Pinot Gris that shows some of the barrel influences enjoyed by a fine Chardonnay, yet with the underlying character of perfectly ripe Pinot Gris.

It begins with soft pear and apricot, which are soon joined by hazelnut and brioche. In the finish look for a hint of butter and lemon zest and some smoky, flinty minerality. Complex yet crisp and refreshing, this is wonderful with food. 

Our last vintage of Pinot Gris Fumé was 2015 and it aged beautifully, so we expect this to do the same, and improve for at least five years.
